Yakov Rubanchik : “They won’t get through!” from 4 September 2019 to 28 February 2020 The exhibition presents more than 140 graphic works by Leningrad architect Yakov Osipovich Rubanchik (1899–1948), that were created in Leningrad during the Siege. At that time being the head of Architectural Studio for GIOP (the State Monuments Protection Inspectorate) he made a lot of dimensional drawings of Leningrad buildings and sketches where the everyday life of the city and its inhabitants was shown. That way a set of graphic works “Leningrad during the WWII. The architect’s diary” was born.
He noticed and depicted some terrible details of the besieged city life, which remained unknown for the long period of the time and have just recently been published in diaries and memories.

An exhibition catalog is available.
