The catalogue includes materials from architectural design competitions of Leningrad House of Soviets (held in1936 and in 1939–1940) from the collection of State Museum of the History of St Petersburg. The House of Soviets was to become the nucleus of the new centre of the city, which was supposed to be located near Moskovsky Prospect. The book includes drawings by leading Soviet architects of the 1930s: Evgeny Levinson, Noi Trotsky, Igor Fomin, Joseph Langbard, and others.
