Traditionally, every year in October, the Culture Projects Foundation “Urbi et Orbi” introduces St. Petersburg residence and city guests to the American Brass art. The “American Brass Season” project emerged in terms of the International Romantic Trumpet Festival “Urbi et Orbi”. Brass art is only developing in Russia and our audience still discovers so familiar and yet unknown musical instrument - a pipe.
Within “American Brass Season” world-renown soloists and brass quintets from USA perform classical and contemporary music, new to the Russian audience in many respects, and share the secrets of their art at master classes at the best venues in the city center of St. Petersburg.
The concert program “American classics and new music” in the Peter and Paul Fortress includes: the world premiere of “Blue Ridge Suite” of Bruce Frazier, classical and contemporary, intellectual and entertaining music, jazz classics (Johann Sebastian Bach, George Friedrich Handel, George Gershwin, Jan Koetsier, Greg McLean, John Cheetham, Bruce Frazier, Sousa / Barron, Waller / Norris, Dedrick, Anderson, Pollack / Cooper etc.)
Participants of the concert: P. Bradley Ulrich, Kevin Eisensmith, Hoodlebug Brass Quintet, Dennis Eldebrock, Bruce Frazier and St. Petersburg Orchestra Soloists Ensemble “Citi-Brass” (Irina Vakulenko, Mikhail Kurilchik and Ekaterina Nikitina).
Author and Manager of the project: composer Irina Vakulenko; art director: P. Bradley Ulrich (USA).
