From Leningrad to the Moon

60 years ago in September and October 1959, the Soviet Luna-2 and Luna-3 Automatic Interplanetary Stations were the first in the world to make successful flights to the Moon. Luna-2 delivered pennants to the Moon, and Luna-3 took pictures of its reverse invisible side. An exhibition is dedicated to the Soviet lunar program and tells about the contribution of Leningrad scientists, designers, engineers to the Moоn exploration.← Back
