Trubetskoy Bastion Prison in Pictures

The prison of Trubetskoy bastion built at the Peter and Paul Fortress during 1870–1872 was one of the main places of political custody in Russia until 1921.

The exhibition presents unique photographs of the Trubetskoy Bastion Prison at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, archives, including prison administration materials and prisoners’ memories. You will have an opportunity to see the in- and outside changes of the prison and learn more about its life during the Russian Empire and the Soviet era time.
