46th exhibition “The Itinerant Art Exhibition Partnership. 21st century”

The art association “The Itinerant Art Exhibition Partnership. 21^st century (St. Petersburg)” was established in 2005 in St. Petersburg in order to revive and develop the best traditions of Russian art. The motto of the Partnership is “from the best examples of the old works to the new, from the proven traditions to experiment”. The association has been studying the art process in Russia and its impact on the modern human, the European art market - its mechanisms and significance for contemporary Russian art.

The name and nature of the modern association resemble the “Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions” - the famous “Wanderers” of the second half of XIX century, among who were such Russian artists as Nikolay Ge, Ivan Kramskoi, Arkhip Kuinji, Grigory Myasoyedov, Vasily Perov, Ilya Repin, Alexey Savrasov, Vasily Surikov, Ivan Shishkin, etc.

The exhibition in the Rumyantsev Mansion united more than 80 paintings, drawings, sculptures of 40 artists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Samara, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and from abroad: Belarus, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Finland. The presented artworks were created in various genres on various topics.

The exhibition gives a chance to see works of artists who teach art at Russian universities and colleges: professors of the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Nikolai Blokhin, Vladimir Zagonek, Igor Petrov and Nikolai Repin, Gennady Tibushkin (Samara), Vladimir Sokolov-Shirshov (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky), Vladimir Nesterkov (Belgorod).

A big concert program will be held as a part of the exhibition. Among the participants are singers Olga Golubtsova, Alexander Lepekhin, Svetlana Dolce, Svetlana Mashkalo, Vitaly Verushkin.
