Symbols of Victory
The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
This exhibition tells about the final and most important stage of the World War II – victory over the Nazi Germany in May 1945. The history of the last days of war are represented by the maps of military operations and original photographs depicting the events of Spring – Summer 1945 from the collections of the State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, Central State Archive of Cinema, Photo and Phono Documents and Russian State Documentary Film & Photo Archive.
The exhibition also features authentic medals, diplomas and letters of appreciation, followed by information about the existing types of medals and their meaning.
Visitors also have the unique opportunity to see and read letters from soldiers to their families.
Separate part of the exhibition space is given to architectural drawings and designs for the monuments in honour of the Soviet soldiers killed in action.
