Exhibition of drafts by Vera Tkalich (Kapitolina) for the film “Trezzini. From Ticino”
Graphic works of the St. Petersburg artist Vera Tkalich (Kapitolina), devoted to the artistic legacy of the first architect of St. Petersburg - Domenico Trezzini. A documentary film “Trezzini. From Ticino” is shown daily non-stop.
The exhibition in the Peter and Paul Fortress will display over 30 works of graphic art: drawings, copies of drawings and plans of buildings, created by the artist for the documentary film of studio NATAKAM about the first architect of St. Petersburg “Trezzini. From Ticino”.
Vera Tkalich was born in 1952 in Leningrad. In 1975 she graduated fromLeningrad Civil Engineering Institute. Member of the Union of Architects of Russia. For a long time she was working in the field of industrial architecture. Among the works of the artist there are architectural designs, drawings, paintings and interior compositions. Vera Tkalich was the costume designer for films “Marigold in flower” of Sergei Snezhkin and “History of the Arkanar Massacre” of Aleksei German, the play of Valery Ivchenko “The Old Man and the Sea” (Bolshoi Drama Theatre named after Georgy Tovstonogov), etc. The works of the artist are stored in private collections.
In 2011 Vera Tkalich became the art director of the documentary and educational film “Trezzini. From Ticino”, dedicated to the work of the architect and engineer-fortifier Domenico Trezzini. He came to Russia for a year but stayed here for a lifetime. Trezzini became the leading architect of Peter I time. Kronshlot, the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, rebuilding of the Peter and Paul Fortress in stone, part of regular planning of the Vasilevsky Island, the Summer Palace of Peter I in the Summer Garden, The Peter and Paul Cathedral, the Twelve Colleges building and many other projects were done according to his drafts and sketches.
The film “Trezzini. From Ticino” will be screened daily at 4 PM throughout the duration of the exhibition.
