In 1994 he founded a personal gallery Bridge across the River Styx at the Pushkinskaya-10 Art Centre, St Petersburg. He has more than 70 joint and solo exhibitions to his credit. Works by Vadim Voinov are part of the collection of The State Hermitage Museum, The State Russian Museum and The State Museum of the History of St Petersburg.
An exhibition in St Petersburg Museum of Avant-garde brings together collages by Vadim Voinov from the cycles Lyrical Suprematism and Object Abstractionism. These collages are made of old, out-of-use and ruined items of no material value. Combined in the artwork, these simple objects of everyday use enter into unexpected compositional interactions, form interesting semantic combinations, not determined by their appearance and function. However, they maintain their utilitarian, historical, emotional, social and psychological identity.
Vadim Voinov says: “I hope that my artworks will help to get closer to one of the aspects of the eternal mystery of the Time and the Substance of things, and I think that the inmost truth of the old material gives big artistic opportunities for doing this”.
