The East – The West. Face to Face
from 11 August 2011 to 6 September 2011
The exhibition of works by Tatiana Fedorova brings together 50 photographs, taken during her numerous journeys across Europe, Asia and Africa in 2005–2010. The project aims at showing the unity of the world, the mirror reflection of the East and the West, captured by the camera lens. Events, situations, people from eastern and western countries, shown from the same angle, make dynamic pairs, linked to each other by the same subject. The photographs show children from Norway and Yemen, newly-weds from St Petersburg and Tashkent, religious workers from the North and the South. The photographer draws parallels between the two cultures, and finds the common ground between them.
Most of the photographs have never been exhibited before.
