An exhibition demonstrates a wide variety of confectionary packaging of the late XIX – XX century, produced by well-known manufacturers of pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg - George Borman, Georg Landrin, Abrikosov and by some Leningrad factories.
A bright colorful package of confectionary products has always attracted large number of customers. Manufacturers used various design techniques from the unusual shape and material to bright and colorful ornaments and interesting plots to decorate candy wrappers, cake boxes, cookies, sweets boxes. They became a powerful mean of advertising goods, taking into account tastes and preferences of the target audience, and in the Soviet time - also an effective way of agitation and propaganda.← Back
