Breathing together with Leningrad
The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
Each and every family in Leningrad suffered from severity of the Great Patriotic War and Siege. This exhibition tells the story of the residents of the house No 57 in Dekabristov Street where Alexander Blok lived and worked until his last days. Throughout all the 900 terrifying days of the Siege, two families lived in this house: the Bukharins and Galaktionovs.
As many other homes, Blok’s house was damaged and nearly destroyed by a bomb in 1942. Two photographs of that time included in the exhibition show the poor state of the building. Apart from photographs the exhibition also features documents and letters of the two families.
The exhibition is complemented with posters and postcards of the war period from the Museum’s collection.
