Exhibition of works by Vera Pavlova
The exhibition of works of one of the best Russian illustrators of children's books is dedicated to the International Children's Day
Vera Pavlova is a well-known St. Petersburg graphic artist, the only owner of a gold medal of the International Biennial of Illustration Bratislava in St. Petersburg, the winner of the prestigious Russian and international book illustrations competitions “Art of the Book” and “Image of the book”.
The exhibition presents a series of illustrations to the new edition of poems for children by Osip Mandelstam – “Sleepy trams” (St. Petersburg: Vita Nova, 2012) done by Vera Pavlova. Also the exhibition displays for the first time works of the cycles “Midsummer Night's Dream” (to a drama by William Shakespeare) and “Magician's Nephew” (to the book by Clive Staples Lewis). The illustrations for “Children's Album” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and “Russian holidays” by Elena Levkievskaya finalize the exhibition.
The exhibition is organized by the publishing house “Vita Nova” in collaboration with the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
