In June – August 2012 the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg exhibits bronze castings based on original plaster models by Auguste Rodin - the great French sculptor and graphic artist, recognized as one of the pioneers of modern sculpture.

In June – August 2012 the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg exhibits bronze castings based on original plaster models by Auguste Rodin - the great French sculptor and graphic artist, recognized as one of the pioneers of modern sculpture.
An outstanding artist of the XIXth century, Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) is considered to be one of the greatest sculptors in history.
Within the walls of the Peter an Paul Fortress a collection of more than fifty sculptures, including a sculptural group “Burghers of Calais”, a monument to Honoré de Balzac, the famous “The Thinker”, “Eternal Spring” and “The Kiss”, “The Bronze Age”, “The Shadow” and fragments of the fine sculptural composition “Mouvements de Dance” will be on display. The exhibition will also feature pages from the famous book of Rodin’s drawings, published in 1897 by Maison Goupil in an edition of 125 copies.
